Silvio Morando
The history of the Morando family begins over 4 centuries ago, when they came to Piedmont from Sardinia through Corsica. It was Silvio's Great-Great Grandfather who set the family on a path to winemaking by removing the phylloxera-ridden vineyards on the property. Today, Silvio run things with his wife Tiziana, who met while both students at the oenological school in Alba, and their three children Nicolò, Camilla, and Rebecca.
Philosophy
The Morando family farms 15 hectares of vineyards planted to Barbera, Grignolino, and Bonarda. They received their Organic certification over 25 years ago. They've also recently experimented with biodynamic techniques, all in an effort to grow the best fruit and maintain finest soils. Their mission is to be real guardians of the territory.
