The Cascina La Barbatella winery was founded in 1983 by the Sonvico family. The Sonvico family produced wines rich in tradition and culture earning a multitude of awards and recognition. Located in Nizza Monferrato (Asti), the vineyard is planted with Barbera, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvginon Blanc, and Cortese grapes. In 2010 the vineyard was purchased by the Perego family, Lorenzo and Cinzia, husband and wife. The two seek to continue the Sonvico legacy and immerse their love of art into the production of this legendary wine.
Philosophy
Born in the 80's, it soon becomes a benchmark of wine production thanks to the passion of Angelo Sonvico and his collaborators for Nizza's and Monferrato's territories. Our effort during these last years allowed us to became a renewed reality based on ancient traditions. We have increased the quality of our wines by paying attention to every processing phase: the vineyard cultivation, the selection of the grapes, the harvest and finally the care of our wine cellar. We added new wines to our tradition such as our “ Ruanera” light blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Barbera, the precious white “Noè” with Sauvignon and Cortese. We are part of "Association of Nizza Producers" association and during the first year of production of new DOCG our NIZZA "
